**This pattern is designed to fit the Amigurumi Doll Body available at the following link:

Materials & Tools

  • Worsted weight yarn

  • Crochet hook - 3.75mm

  • Fiberfill

  • Darning Needle

  • Stitch Marker

  • Scissors

Abbreviations

  • MR - Magic Ring

  • sc - single crochet

  • inc - increase

  • sl st - slip stitch

  • ch - chain

  • BLO - back loop only

  • (6) - total number of stitches in a round

  • R - row

  • F/O - finish off

Notes

  • Haircap is worked in continuous rounds

  • Place stitch marker in last stitch of every row unless you prefer otherwise

  • The above materials are suggestions only, but you must use the same yarn weight and hook size as you used on the Amigurumi Doll Body pattern.

Haircap

R1 6 sc in MR (6)

R2 inc around (12)

R3 (1 sc, inc) around (18)

R4 (2 sc, inc in BLO) around (24)

*Mark the first stitch of R4 with a marker for adding hair pieces later.

ree

R5 (3 sc, inc) around (30)

R6 (4 sc, inc) around (36)

R7-10 sc around for 4 rows (36)

*In R11, we will be making bangs for our doll's haircap. If you wish NOT to have bangs, then simply just sc around for R11 to eliminate them.

Bangs

R11 sc in next 5 sts, (sl st in next st and ch 5, sc in 2nd ch from the hook and sc in the next 3 chs, sl st in next st) repeat 5 more times, sc in next 19 sts (24sc, 6 sl st, 6 hair pieces)

F/O and leave a long tail for sewing

ree

*You can roll/curve the hair pieces toward the haircap to shape the bangs.

Ponytail/ Hair

*Attach yarn in the 1st front loop of R4 that was marked earlier. You should have 18 front loops around to work into.

R1 (Ch 25, sc in 2nd ch from the hook, and sc in 23 more chs, sl st in next 2 st) repeat 7 more times, sl st to the first st to join. (11 sl st, 8 hair pieces)

F/O and weave in ends.

Optional Hair Tie

Ch 15, sc in 2nd ch from hook, and sc in next 13 chs (14 sc)

Bring sides together and sl st and

F/O. Sew up edge.

ree

*It is easier to pull one strand through the circle at a time.

*You can sew the hair tie down onto the haircap or leave it unsewn for removal in the future. I recommend sewing the hair tie before sewing the haircap to the doll's head for an easier experience.

Assembly

*Simply place your haircap on your doll's head and sew down to the doll's head in the position you desire.

*Pinning your haircap down with stick pins can help in placement.

*Make sure that the middle 2 bangs are positioned in between the eyes for an even look for the front of the face.
